Over the course of the years we’ve heard from people who love our cooking shows but because they are empty nesters, or retirees or just have fewer people to cook for, haven’t been interested in pledging for our cookbooks. Chris Fennimore has sifted through 15 years of programs to assemble 100 of the most popular recipes and scaled them down for individuals and smaller families. During the program he invites some of our favorite cooks to come back to the kitchen and recreate their famous dishes in smaller proportions. The book is organized into sections that feature chicken and pork dishes, seafood, casseroles, pastas and meatless dishes, veggies, desserts and breads. The recipes feature simple preparations and use easy to find ingredients. Creamy butternut squash soup, delicate manicotti, zesty chicken cacciatore, exotic couscous salad and comforting, old fashioned baked apples are just some of the recipes demonstrated.
